Discover beautiful gardens and interesting history when you visit this landmark estate that was once the summer home retreat of the Frelinghuysen family. This unique Morristown attraction is home to over 120 acres of manicured gardens filled with ornamental grasses, shrubs, flowers, fruit trees and more. The stunning Colonial Revival style Whippany Farm Mansion and the education center offer visitors a range of tours and programs throughout the year

Before you go

Family Discovery Backpacks

Children from preschool through 5th grade can discover the gardens with a special kid-friendly pack filled with fun activities, games and ideas for finding plants, animals and insects. Backpacks are available for $5 at the Haggerty Education Center’s reception desk from 9am-2:30pm daily, on a first-come, first served basis.

Arboretum Tours

Guided tours for groups of 12 or more are offered at the arboretum. All tours depart from the Haggerty Education Center and include a short film and guided tour of the gardens, the atrium art gallery, the carriage collection and a visit to the historic Whippany Farm Mansion. Tours are $10 per person.
