FLORHAM PARK, NJ - January 31, 2007--Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center, an award-winning business and conference facility in Northern New Jersey managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts (DH&R), has undergone a second phase of renovation and upgrades, many instituted based on client and meeting planner input. These improvements bring DH&R's capital investment to the property to $15 million since acquiring it in 2005. Hamilton Park's exceptional service, use of meeting rooms, guest rooms, and other facilities will continue without interruption while the projects are completed. The property's fitness center has undergone a total renovation, complemented by the addition of 18 new Matrix cardio machines, including the exceptional X-series treadmills, each with its own LCD television screen. Free weights and strength training equipment round out the facility, which also includes locker and rest rooms. In a recent focus group held among Hamilton Park's clients, fitness and workout facilities were ranked among the most important amenities for meeting conferees. The Arrive has been upgraded with the addition of 50 new seats, increasing its capacity to 300. Two additional private dining areas have been created: the Wine Room, an intimate space for 18-20 people surrounded by a wall holding 500 bottles of wine, and the Library, with capacity for 25 guests. The dining room's outdoor spaces have also been enhanced - again based on customer feedback - with the renovation and expansion of the Terrace Patio. In addition, an outdoor pavilion will be erected by May which will accommodate up to 400 people for meetings and catered events in a garden-like atmosphere located in the rear of the property. A new lobby lounge, which will serve as a coffee bar during the day and a chic, intimate bar for drinks and lively conversation in the evening, is being created during this phase of the renovation, which also relocates the hotel's front desk and increases seating and conversation areas throughout the lobby. These enhancements will be completed by late spring. All new interior design is by Mitch Thompson, principal of Mitch Thompson & Associates of Missoula, Montana, a firm which melds its clients' goals and personalities into designs appropriate to the functionality of a space. "This commitment to updating facilities and services will only serve to strengthen Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center's stature among conference centers in the Northeast," said Joe Crimmins, managing director of the property. "We are dedicated to providing the highest professional standards and certification by the International Association of Conference Centers," Crimmins continued. "It's important to note that this second phase of renovation is in direct response to the information and suggestions our clients provided during recent focus groups." Other projects within the second phase include upgrades to entire inventory of guest rooms and bathrooms, which will begin in November and be complete by the end of first quarter 2008. In the first phase of renovations completed in 2006, the property spent $4.5 million upgrading meeting rooms and public spaces, enhancing technology, and adding state-of-the-art Herman Miller Aeron chairs to all meeting rooms. Additionally, the property has added a computer bar with four personal workstations featuring large screen monitors that have proven to be exceptionally popular. The remaining conference space that was not renovated in the first phase during 2006 will be completed in 2007. An 18-passenger bus is now available to transport guests to and from surrounding corporate headquarters and recreational facilities, including golf courses, sports complexes and shopping malls. Set on 13 acres in New Jersey's historic Morristown area, just 20 minutes from Newark Airport, Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center presents a beautiful setting for corporate gatherings, social occasions, weddings and leisure stays. The property features 219 luxurious guest rooms and suites, 40 meeting rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, a range of exquisite dining options and a full-service business center.
